Your order will contain a variety of 7-gram, single-origin, 70%, 72%, and 77% dark chocolate bars. Each bar is traceable to a family farm in Costa Rica, Honduras, or Tanzania.
The ingredients are few & high quality: cocoa beans and organic cane sugar. This chocolate is smooth, rich, and never bitter. Taste the bars side by side for an eye-opening revelation into how complex cocoa beans can be!
Askinosie works directly with a handful of farms in both Central America & Africa to grow the most amazing beans possible. Their Springfield, Missouri facility roasts, grinds, conchs, tempers, and pours all of their chocolate in-house. They are the first small-batch chocolatier in America to make their own cocoa butter in-house and the one of the only chocolatiers in the world making single-origin white chocolate! All packaging is recycled, the cocoa bean shells are turned into locally-sold gardening mulch, and profits are shared directly with farmers on a yearly basis. The company uses a significant portion of their sales to fund Chocolate University, an intensive teaching program that immerses local high school students & disadvantaged youth in entrepreneurship. (Last year's students traveled to the company's Tanzania farm and were featured in O Magazine by Oprah Winfrey!)
